Landfill methane capture project run by Element Markets in Pennsylvania destroying landfill gas, through two electric generators powering a nearby manufacturing process.
The landfill methane capture project destroys landfill gas from the Creswell and Frey Farm landfills, two adjacent municipal solid waste facilities located in Manor Township, Pennsylvania. The methane is collected by a network of gas wells at two landfill sites, and conveyed to PPL's 3.2 megawatt gas-to-energy plant. The methane is then combusted and the heat generated by the engine-generators is supplied to the nearby dairy operation for use in their ice cream manufacturing process.
